Tall Mug
This is my tall mug. I pulled up to create a cylinder and then kept pulling up and out to give it a different shape than the wide mug. After is was done, I added a handle and then fired it. It is glazed with green and a little red.
Wide Mug
This is my wide mug. I made this on the wheel. I started making a cylinder and slowly started pulling it outward until it became wide enough. It is glazed with indigo float.
Stella Cup
This is a stella cup. You roll out a slab base and stamp a pattern into it. Then you sculpt it into a cylinder and pinch the bottoms so it has 3 legs. After that is done you add a handle. I decided to glaze mine a blueish red color after it was fired.
Slab Base Vase
This is my slab base vase. I rolled out a slab base and stamped a pattern into it. Then I traced a vase shape into the clay and cut it out. Then I stood both the slabs up and smoothed them together so they were connected. I then put the bottom on and smoothed it all out so the vase shape become noticable. After that I put the handles on and let it harden. After my vase was fired I glazed it with indigo float glaze.
Altered Cylinder
This is my altered cylinder. For this project you had to make a regular cylinder but then alter it, so it looks unusual and unique. As you can see I tried to make indents in it starting at the bottom and going upward, but as I got towards the middle it moved and became squished. I decidede to keep it though, because it is very altered and unique. I glazed this in Indigo Float.
Final Project (3 bowls)
Here is my final project. For this project we had to make 3 bowls. I made a big bowl, a medium bowl and a small bowl. To make them all even was very time consuming but it was worth it so they look nice enough to use. I glazed the first one in blue, the second in yellow and the third in a redish-black.
